Wright Advises For Hernandez Sign

Arsenal legend Ian Wright says that his club should consider signing Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who has been widely tipped to leave the club in the summer. The Mexican international has been starved of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford. Since it is affecting his international career, Hernandez is widely believed to be unsettled. Despite being on the fringes of first-team, he has been an important player for the club over the last few years. He was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson for just around £ 8 million, but he had an impressive debut campaign by scoring 20 goals in all competitions.

Since then, he has maintained a great scoring rate, but the presence of much high profile players like Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie has prevented him from being featured on a regular basis. However, a move to Arsenal will suit the player according to Wright, who himself was a great striker during his playing days. Hernandez may have made 21 appearances in the league this season, but he has not played for more than 33 minutes in a match on average. This is because he has been primarily used as a substitute in most of the matches.

Since Arsenal do not have a second striker to back up Olivier Giroud, they have been very poor in the second half of the season. Wenger has had to rest Giroud for most of the matches, while the Frenchman has also suffered a dip in form. Wright says that Hernandez will prove to be a valuable purchase in such a situation. “Arsenal, go and buy Hernandez from United and put him out of his misery. He will score the goals!” said the former striker on his Twitter account.

Hernandez has been able to score with an accuracy of 22% from his shots.
