RVP IS AN ASSET

The Manchester United striker, Javier Hernandez, has said that the former Arsenal captain, Robin Van Persie, is a great asset for the club and his presence in the camp is helping the young guys a lot.

Van Persie has been bought by United this summer from Arsenal and he is performing brilliantly for the club in his very first season. He recently scored a hat trick against Southampton to help United win that match by 3-2. The English superstar, Wayne Rooney, is currently out of the United team due to injury, but Van Persie is not letting the club miss Rooney. He is perfectly playing the role of senior striker in Rooney’s absence.

Hernandez has been fascinated by the playing style of Persie. As per Hernandez, Persie has got fantastic skills. There are very few better strikers than him in the world. He is one of those players whose presence on the field is enough to put the opposing team under pressure. It was fantastic to watch him play against Southampton. He was in a destructive mood and it was very hard to stop him that day. The Mexican international said that Persie is capable of putting up such kind of performances consistently.

Hernandez has been playing for United since the last two seasons. He had signed for the club in July 2010. United had bought him from the Mexican club C.D. Guadalajara after paying a transfer fee of 7 million pounds. The performance of Hernandez in his debut season for United was majestic. He had scored 20 goals in the 2010-11 season. But, in the last season, he struggled with injuries and didn’t get regular playing chances.

However, the Mexican striker is hopeful of performing well in the current season. Hernandez said that he is expecting to get more first team chances in the ongoing season and hopefully, he would be able to make some valuable contributions for the club.
